Abigale Le Miller bio
Abigale Lee
Mills (born September 21, 1965) was an American dance instructor, choreographer
and reality TV host. Abby Lee Dance Company is her own creation that ran for
eight seasons on Dance Moms. Miller was found guilty on June 27th, 2016 to
fraudulent bankruptcy in the felony category. Miller was sentenced for one and
one-half years in federal prison and released on the 27th of March 2018. She
was diagnosed with lymphoma in April of 2018. It's a form of cancer that
renders you unable walk. She uses a wheelchair to move around. Miller grew up
in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Her teacher was her mother at Maryen Lorrain Dance
Studio. In 1980, at age 14, Miller was assigned the task for choreographing and
coaching for one of her mother's dance teams. Miller eventually took over the
company, changing its name to Reign Dance Productions. Miller was certified by
Dance Masters of America, and was a member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania
Chapter 10 (February 1986). However, DMA terminated her membership in February
2012 because Miller's reality show Dance Moms was a "complete
misconception of the teachers we have and students" and was detrimental to
the profession.
